He spent about 12 years putting this book together. He was motivated by the fact that there were very little written works on Chen Style taijiquan. Most of the teachings were passed down by words of mouth. He was concerned that the art would be lost over the generations.

In fact this book is quoted in almost all Chen Style TaijiQuan books. It was a delight finding this book in the bookstore.However this book is written in classical Chinese with no punctuation marks. It is not easy to understand if even if you know Chinese. The topics that he covered are YingYang Theory, silk reeling theory, meridian theory and notes on the various postures.

The book has 436 pages and the paper quality is thin and white rather than the typical browish paper.

Some updates :
Dated 6 May 2003 : Descendants of Chen Xin sued Shanghai Bookstore for printing Chen Xin's book "Chen Shi TaijiQuan Tu Shuo" without permission during the period from Jan 1986 to Sept 2001. A total of 44001 books were printed by them. The 3 descendants were awarded about RMB$20,000 in the end by the Xi'an court in Nov 2002. Shanghai Bookstore appealed but the verdict is uphold by the court.
